Custodial Interference in the First Degree
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, at approximately 2:55 p.m., during a supervised Family Court visitation at the Keopuolani Park in Kahului, Kaimaile Makekau (41) fled on foot with her son, Kawelu Makekau (7), towards Kahului Beach Road.
Extensive checks made in the vicinity proved unsuccessful.
Kaimaile Makekau is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-7, weighs about 145 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown t-shirt and camouflage pants.
Kawelu Makekau is described as Hawaiian, 4-foot-11, weighs about 70 pounds, and has hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black and white tee shirt and camouflage pants.
