Career Paths

  • Detectives in the CID handle serious crimes such as homicides, sexual assaults, robberies, and major thefts; interviewing witnesses and suspects, to solve complex cases.

  • This unit combats drug-related crimes including the distribution, sale, and possession of illegal drugs. Officers conduct undercover operations, execute search warrants, and collaborate with other agencies to disrupt drug trafficking networks. They also investigate gambling.

  • This division investigates vice-related crimes such as gambling and prostitution. Officers conduct undercover operations and work to disrupt illicit activities.

  • Officers in this unit promote road safety, enforce traffic laws, and work to reduce traffic accidents and fatalities. They conduct traffic patrols, DUI checkpoints, and speed enforcement operations to address hazardous driving behaviors.

  • The SRT handles high-risk situations like hostage rescues, barricaded suspects, and armed confrontations. Officers undergo intensive training in tactics, firearms proficiency, and crisis negotiation to ensure the utmost safety and effectiveness.

  • Focused on fostering positive relationships, this unit engages with residents, businesses, and community organizations to address quality-of-life issues, promote crime prevention initiatives, and build trust and cooperation.

  • K9 officers work alongside specially trained police dogs to assist in tracking suspects, locating evidence, and detecting drugs or people. This unit undergoes specialized training to enhance their effectiveness.

  • Responsible for handling cases involving juvenile offenders and providing support services to at-risk youth, this division collaborates with schools, social services, and community organizations to prevent youth involvement in crime.

  • Dedicated to providing ongoing education, skills development, and leadership training, this division ensures officers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.

Assisting with the intake and processing of individuals in custody, ensuring accurate inventory of their property.

Processing Arrestees

Providing necessary care, including feeding and monitoring arrestees, upholding our commitment to compassionate service.

In-Custody Care

Vigilantly overseeing surveillance systems to maintain security within and around the station, acting as the eyes and ears for our officers.

Security Oversight

 Handling direct calls to the station, gathering critical information, and coordinating with dispatch to ensure prompt and effective responses.

Direct Communication

Responsibilities Include:

New officers begin their careers as recruits or probationary officers, after completing the hiring process, academy training, and field training. Upon successful completion, they are sworn in as police officers.
